Founded in 1985 as Carolina Duplicating by Tom and Bryan Hall, what started as a two-person venture by a father and son team quickly grew to become Graphic Printing Services by 1988. From its humble beginnings, the company has steadily grown to employ over 100 dedicated print and marketing professionals, and is continuously researching, evolving and expanding its product and service offerings, making it the dynamic organization it has become at present — Graphic Visual Solutions.

Since it’s inception, Graphic, as the company commonly refers to itself, has undertaken nine major building expansions, 12 major equipment expansions, integrated two key business acquisitions, provided significant training programs for it’s employees and invested over $45 million to create one of the most comprehensive and state-of-the-art printing, packaging, and imaging facilities in the Southeast. Our focused and progressive direction is what enables us to provide our clients with the most innovative business and marketing solutions available today!

2016

Graphic Visual Solutions | Our History

Graphic invests in new digital printing technology, including installing one of the nation’s first HP Indigo 12000 half-size digital presses. The company also adds a 7-color HP Indigo 7900 digital press.

2015

After developing its advanced quality management program, Graphic receives ISO 9001:2008 certification covering all of its operational areas.

2015

Graphic adds HUV printing capabilities to its lithography presses and invests in new direct mail equipment to enable high-speed inkjetting and automated match mail inserting.

2013

After investing over $8 million in new equipment, acquisitions and office expansions, Graphic creates a three-building campus. Hutchison Allgood consolidates its operations with Graphic’s and the employee count rises to over 100.

2012

Specializing in commercial sheetfed and digital print, as well as providing enrollment and admissions solutions to the collegiate market, Graphic acquires Hutchison Allgood Printing.

2012

Graphic wins it’s first “Benny” — the Oscar of the print world — at the Printing Industries of America’s Premier Print Awards. Since this initial recognition, Graphic has won eight additional Bennys for exceptional print work, bringing the company’s total to nine over the last four years.

2011

Graphic invests in and installs Printergy, the world’s most advanced prepress workflow system to date.

2009

Graphic’s offerings are organized as distinct solutions and added to the company’s branding under the tagline “Seven Solutions… One Source.”

2008

To reflect the progressive nature of the organization and encompass the full spectrum of marketing and business solutions available to it’s clients, the company rebrands as Graphic Visual Solutions.

2008

Graphic expands its capabilities to include digital printing and wide-format graphics.

2007

Graphic achieves its first $1.5 million sales month.

2007

A $5 million equipment expansion is undertaken, which includes a new 40-inch, eight color perfecting sheetfed press and a new 13-inch, eight-color flexography label press.

2006

Graphic acquires Dorsett Printing Corporation located in Thomasville, North Carolina, and consolidates operations at its current facilities to create a greatly expanded flexography department.

2005

Graphic expands again by adding a larger 25,000-square-foot fulfillment and inventory management warehouse and the number of employees grows to over 70.

2004

Graphic launches it’s employee training program with an initial investment of over $100,000. This became the foundation for the company’s extensive training program today.

2002

Graphic creates a new 15,000-square-foot fulfillment and inventory management warehouse making the total facility 70,000 square feet.

2002

Graphic begins an equipment expansion by adding a 40-inch, six-color plus aqueous coating sheetfed press, a 40-inch computer-to-plate imaging system, a 40-inch automated folder and a 40-inch autoplaten diecutter.

2001

Graphic Printing Services, Inc. wins a “Best of the Best” award from the Printing Industries of America in their “Best Workplace in America” competition.

2001

Graphic Printing Services, Inc. was ranked among the “Triad’s 50 Fastest Growing Businesses” by the “Triad Business Journal.”

2001

A new paper recycling and baling system is installed throughout the plant. Additionally, a complete re-engineering of Graphic’s prepress department culminates in bringing advanced computer-to-plate technology and equipment online.

2000

Graphic achieves its first million dollar sales month and the number of employees reaches 60.

1998

Over $5 million in new equipment is installed, which includes a new half-size, six-color sheetfed press. Graphic also installs both its first automated diecutter and folder/gluer unit, launching the company’s folding carton division.

1994


Reaching sales of over $5 million annually, “American Printer Magazine” recognizes Graphic Printing Services, Inc. as the “Fastest Growing Printing Company in America.”

1994

A 13,000-square-foot facility expansion is completed and two new presses are added to Graphic’s equipment lineup — a half-size, five-color sheetfed press and a 10-inch, nine-color flexography label press.

1991

Graphic breaks ground, builds and moves to its current location in High Point, North Carolina.

1988 - 1991

Graphic Printing Services, Inc. grows from three employees to 25, moves from a 3,000-square-foot warehouse to a 10,000-square-foot production facility and adds five-color printing capabilities.

To reflect its growing reputation as a quality print provider, the company changes its name and incorporates as Graphic Printing Services, Inc.

1985
